An Antique Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Bowl
An Antique Chinese Bowl Famille Porcelain Bowl with Provenance. This bowl features a cone-shaped tip on one side and relief tree design on the other decorated all-over with brightly glazed flowers. With a red underglaze mark: TONGZHI on the bottom of the base. Ca. Qing Dynasty, 19th. Century. Size l 5 X w 4 X h 2. Provenance: Collection of Edward Hyers Clayton (1886-1946). American writer and missioner. E.H. Clayton and his wife were missionaries of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society in charge of Wayland Academy, a missionary school in Hangzhou, China from 1912 to 1942. E.H. Clayton wrote a book Heaven Below based on his living experience in China.
