Ma'aseh Rav. Early Edition with the Fraudulent Title Page
Ma'aseh Rav - customs and conduct of Rabbi Eliyahu of Vilna - the GR"A of Vilna, by Rabbi Yissachar Ber of Vilna.
The title page reads: Printed by: Juda Meyerhoffer, Zolkiew, 1808. However, all these details are false!
This is an early edition of Ma'aseh Rav, apparently printed in Zolkiew c. 1840. There were those who previously thought this edition was the first edition, as it is listed in Dienstag 251. Indeed, the author surely intended to print the book in 1817, when he asked for an approbation. The year 1808 is certainly incorrect. This edition is clearly printed according to the 1833 edition. The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book lists it as the third edition. Refer to Winograd, Sifrei HaGR"A 810.
