Anthology of works by writers and artists that escaped from Nazi Germany to Palestine: Else Lasker-Schüler, Max Brod, Arnold Zweig, Margot Klausner, Wolfgang Hildesheimer (two illustrations), Anton Gurevich (four illustrations), Stefan Wolpe (folded plate - sheet music for a song by Shaul Tchernichovsky) and others. In addition, the anthology contains German translations of two Hebrew writers: Avraham Shlonsky and Leah Goldberg.
Handwritten German dedication on first leaf (dated 1944).
88, [4] pp + 1 folded plate (sheet music. paginated as three pages), approx. 16.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Minor stains. Four of the leaves are detached. Tape along the spine and a bookplate on the inside front cover.
