A collection of books from the Lemberg printing presses, some with interesting ownership stamps, from the library of the chassidic kabbalist Rabbi Mordechai Moshe Hacohen Karfman of Jerusalem. Most signed with his stamp or his signature. 1. The book Divrei Shaul, Torah novaelle on the weekly Torah portions, by Rabbi Yosef Shaul Nathansohn. 3 parts, a separate title page for each part – 1877. One leaf is missing from the end of the Bereishit section. 2. The book Kesef Nivchar “with one hundred and sixty rules found in the Talmud and in the words of the foremost Rishonim and Achronim.” By Rabbi Baruch Bendet Goitein. Three parts, separate title page for each part. Part one – 1895. Parts two and three – 1901. 3. The book Minchat Cohen by Rabbi Avraham Cohen Pimentel, with the three books Mevo Hashemesh, Hataaravot, Mishmeret Habayit – 1841. Ownership signature: “Belongs to Rabbi Yekutiel Zvi,” and another signature “Chaim Bunim… [?]” And a signature: “Rosenfeld.” 4. The book Kreiti U’Fleiti by Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschutz, part one on the Yoreh Deah section of the Shulchan Aruch. At the end is the book Tiferet Yisrael on the laws of Nidda by the author, bound with the book Atzei Levona on the Yoreh Deah section of the Shulchan Aruch by Rabbi Nissan of Dubno – 1860. With interesting stamps: “Ben Zion ritual slaughterer of the community of Craciunesti,” and a stamp: “Meir Pollack” in Hebrew and Latin letters. Signature: “Belongs to me… [?] Menachem Mordechai… [?],” and various inscriptions on the last leaf that were not examined in depth. Conditions vary. Good overall condition.
