Selichot with pleasant commentaries, in the tradition of Ashkenazi congregations. Venice, 1600
Between 1599 and 1600 a Machzor for the entire year was published in Venice, with the Hadarat Kodesh commentary. The commentary, an anthology of several compositions, was written by Rabbi Yitzchak the son of Rabbi Yaakov Yozvel Segal of Herrlisheim. His commentary was very well received in the Ashkenazi communities and various editions of machzorim included this commentary.
In 1600 Rabbi Yitzchak published a book of Selichot for the entire year, also with the Hadarat Kodesh commentary. That edition was essentially an excerpt from the full machzor, but with a few significant additions.
This book includes an index of the selichot prayers and a booklet of the laws of fast days, by Rabbi Yitzhak.
Complete. Fair condition. Yellowed pages and worming stains. 316 pages, 28 cm.
