Ancient Sefer Torah In a Magnificent Silver Case, Syria, 19th Century
An ancient Sefer Torah in a silver case, expertly crafted, decorated with special engravings, and two splendid pomegranates. The Sefer with its case were dedicated by the famous Banker of Jaffa, Senor Meir Matlon (one of the important builders of Tel-Aviv-Jaffa and Israel) in honor of his daughter Reyna and his wife Sara.
A rare and breathtaking museum item, which constitutes an important historical record of the city of Jaffa.
