Tikkunei HaZohar. Many Dozens of Comments and Kabbalistic Sketches in Persian Script
Early edition of Tikkunei HaZohar (Constantinople in 1808 [?]). The leaves' margins are filled with lengthy handwritten kabbalistic comments in ancient Persian script. Comments including topics in practical kabbalah, Divine Names and dozens of kabbalistic sketches. [Isfahan, early 19th century?]
The comments have not been thoroughly examined, but it is clear that they were written by an expert kabbalist, for example: (leaf 71) the secret of vidui; (leaf 61) diagram of the angel Mata"t and the sephirahs above him; (leaf 63) diagram of the 4 camps of the Divine Presence with a detailed list of the 70 angels in them; diagram of the heavenly chariot; Angels' names that Raziel HaMalach gave Adam; many prayers with the precise times for reciting them, along with which goals they benefit, and much more. These words are also found among the leaves: Ben Ftach Ali Shah (possibly referring to the king of Persia), "Isfahan," "the year 1826" and "Eliyahu son of Rabbi David zlh"h, born of Miriam."
Approximately 50 leaves, 25 cm. Tikkunim 21-50 appear here, of the 70 tikkunim by the Tanna Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai (the first 20 tikkunim are lacking). Thick, quality paper.
Moderate-fine condition. Aging stains. Minimal tears. Detached leaves. Not bound.
