Chafetz Chaim - laws of slander and gossip [הלכות לשון הרע ורכילות] by Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaCohen. Vilna, Dvoretz Press. 1873. First edition. Correction and gloss handwritten by the author. 
The author handwrote a correction in pencil on leaf 23, a correction which was inserted into the next edition of the book. 
On leaf 80, the author wrote a comment about an omission to what was printed; it was completed in the omissions printed in another section.
First edition of a book that was a turning point for generations. This was the first time that a book dedicated entirely to the topic of slander and gossip was printed. The author, Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaKohen, was known specifically for this work, as the author of Chafetz Chaim - despite later authoring Mishnah Berurah and more. The author published this book anonymously, and his name is not mentioned in the approbations. However, on the margins of the title page, "I.M. Kagan" is printed in  Cyrillic characters.
5 [1] 8-81 leaves, approximately 22 cm. Without the subscriber leaves, which were added to only some of the copies.
Fine condition. Part of the title page is lacking. Stains. Simple binding.
