Sefer Ein Yisrael – Beit Yehudah (Ein Ya’akov), first section. Venice, 1737. [Second section, Venice, 1739]. Thousands of lengthy glosses in Italian handwriting, including a collection of commentaries and Chiddushim by the author who notes at head of title page of section one: “The majority of the Chiddushim written in the book were collected --- from the books Ta’ava LaEinayim, Iyun Ya’akov, Yesharesh Ya’akov, Ha’akeda and Ba’al Yafe Mare’h --- and Ba’al Aderet Eliyahu. A minority are of Sheli Yazei [initials]". From a superficial review of the written glosses it appears that the many glosses by the author amount to a complete book. The author was among the scholars of Italy in the late 18th century, and his name was alluded to in the Pseudonym: “Sheli Yazei” [initials of: … merit to see children and be blessed with longevity, amen].
Incomplete copies: section 1: 177 first leaves (of: 419, [9] leaves originally); section 2: 657-780, 771-774, 781-859 leaves. (Of: [1], 422-586, 589-780, 771-774, 781-859 leaves originally). 2 volumes, 19-20 cm. Fair condition, ink and wear damage, ancient worn bindings.
