A pair of Torah Finials, with a dedication. The finials were created in Persia early in the 20th century while the engraving was added in Jerusalem in 1952.
Hammered and engraved silver.
The finials are designed as a tower in the shape of an apple in its center, and a cylindrical leg. A vegetal pattern is finely hammered on the surface. Four Stars of David with the word "Zion" appear within a cartouche. Eleven Persian coins are attached with chains to the upper part. On one finial appears the inscription "I, Shaul ben Israel dedicated a pair of Torah Finials to the synagogue Tiferet Mahanayim…" The inscription continues on the second finial: "for my successful marriage and good deeds…, 1952, Jerusalem".
Height: 33 cm, good condition, several indentations.
