Book by German theoretician and music critic Adolph Weismann, with ten engravings by the artist Michel Fingesten; all signed in pencil. Copy no. 96 of 200 numbered copies.
Michel Fingesten (1883-1943), a Czeck-Jewish painter and graphic designer, lived and worked in Berlin. After the rise of the Nazi party to power he fled to Italy, where he was imprisoned in a concentration camp. Fingesten died several days after the liberation of the camp by the British army.
[2] leaves, 67 pp, [1] leaf + [10] engraving plates, 28.5 cm. Fine binding with parchment spine and a gold embossing. Good condition. Some staining to pages. Foxing at edges of leaves. Some damage to binding.
