'And the sons returned to their borders' We hereby inform the esteemed audience that on the first day of Elul, the holy place will be opened at the burial of our mother Rachel ...' Print in green ink.

At the time of the 1929 riots, the British authorities forbade Jewish visits to Rachel's Tomb because of the security situation. the announcement before us  was apparently published after the permit to return to the tomb. in which the Activists warn against staying overnight at the grave on Thursday nights. And that atomobile will travel from the Jaffa Gate. The first days of the British Mandate Rachel's Tomb was open to Jewish prayer during the holidays and during the month of Elul only. After the riots, Shlomo Freiman, who held the keys to Rachel's Tomb, decided to open it every day throughout the rest of the year. Transportation from Jerusalem to Bethlehem was conducted via Arab-owned buses. During the months of Elul and Tishrei in which the number of visitors to the site increased, the "Mekasher" company set up a special line that was set out from Jaffa Gate.
