A rare and historic letter of protest, in the handwriting and signature of Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman, and signatures of the great sages of Israel - contempt for the honor of Rabbi Shach - 1988.
A historical letter, a prayer of many for contempt of the honor of Rabbi Shach. In the handwriting and signature of Maran HaGrail Shteinman zt "l, and with signatures: Rabbi Michel Yehuda Lipkovich, Rabbi Nissim Karelitz, Rabbi Chaim Kanivsky, Rabbi Chaim Shaul Karelitz and Rabbi Shimon Baadani.
Background: Due to differences of opinion between Rabbi Shach, Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky (the Steipler) and other Lithuanian rabbis, and among the Admorim and Hassidic parties in the leadership of Agudas Israel, Rabbi Shach decided to form a new party - The Degel Hatorah Party. The move created tensions between the Lithuanian and Hasidic communities.
At that time, Rabbi Shach [Rabbi Yechezkel Ashaik's vehicle] was sprayed with graffiti denouncing Rabbi Shach.
In response, Rabbi Shteinman organized a prayer assembly at the synagogue in the town of Bnei Brak. Rabbi Steinman even formulated and wrote the ad for the rally.
During these years, Rabbi Steinman wasnt used to organize events. As a result, this item is rare and historical!
