Placard printed in Yiddish, published in the Belsen camp (Germany) upon the resolution of the United Nations regarding the establishment of a state for the Jews. "For two thousand years the Jewish Nation has mourned the abandonment of its Land and has been waiting every day for the redemption. We have suffered pogroms, inquisitions, troubles and exiles. Behold yesterday the United Nations announced the establishment of a Jewish State in the Holy Land. Despite the pain over the fact that our fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters did not reach this happy time, we will celebrate the day ... Long live the Jewish state! Long live the Jewish nation! Long live our liberated Land! ... Belsen. November 30th, 1947.
