In different ways, this book symbolizes the essence of the literary religious enterprise of the Rama. The book was printed in Krakow, where the author served as a rabbi and where he is buried. The book was accepted by learners as a basic, important book.
On the title page of the book, an ancient Hebrew inscription: "I have bought the book, the young Wolf … Yonah Z"L … the Mühlhausen community".
On the lower part of the title page, an ancient Hebrew signature: "Moshe bar Avraham called by all Moshe…". It is possibly the signature of Rabbi Moshe Worms, of the same generation of the Rama, who wrote at the end of his book "Customs of the Holy Community of Frankfurt am Mein": "The year 1577… I have gathered customs for the public, the speech of Moshe bar Avraham … Worms, who lives in the holy community of Friedeburg".
On the reverse side of the title page, a Hebrew signature: "Belongs to Avraham ben … Yosef [?] Lifshitz".
The lower part of some of the leaves of the book are cut due to its binding. The missing lines have been completed (maybe not completely) in ancient script from the time of printing!
A few lingual corrections in ancient script on the first leaves of the book.
84, 19 leaves. 19 cm.
Condition: fair-Good. Slightly falling apart. Blue edges. Dampness stains. Some of the indices leaves at the end of the book are slightly torn with slight omission of text.
