Mishneh Torah, Zeraim, Avodah. Vilna 1900.
On the endpages is the signature of Rabbi Eliyahu Rom. Different ownership inscriptions (amongst others: "Birzair". It seems that this is Rabbi Eliyahu's signature, as he was born in Birzai). A Torah novellae in Rabbi Eliyahu Rom's handwriting regarding the words of the Netziv in "Ha'Emek Davar".
Throughout the book there are approximately ten in-depth glosses in Rabbi Eliyah Rom's handwriting. The glosses are on the Rambam and the commentaries on him.
On the endpage an additional page is attached: "An eternal memorial!", on which is written that the book is the donation of a righteous woman to the old age home in Jerusalem. 1910. Stamps of Beit Moshav Zekenim.
Rabbi Eliyahu Rom (1872-1959) served as a Dayan on the Great Beit Din in "The Churva of Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid" for 36 years. His colleague, Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank, used to say that when Rabbi Eliyahu was present in the Beit Din there was no need for books of Talmud and Shulchan Aruch, as he knew them off by heart.
Condition: Good. The edges of some of the pages are worn. Semi-leather cover.
