A lamentation printed in Arabic in Tunisia, when the Germans invaded the country.
Almiziria Lamentation by D.V. Castro Print, Tunisia (approximately 1945). Arabic-Hebrew, with transcription in Latin alphabet. Lamentation about the victims of the Nazi rule in Tunisia.
Tunisia was under the Nazi rule from November 1942 until May 1943. The Jews were required to wear a yellow patch and provide for the needs of the German army. Many Jews were shot to death in their homes or during the Death Marches. About 4,000 Jews were sent to concentration camps in Tunisia and few were sent to extermination camps.
