Sefer Tzida LaDerech by Rabbi Menachem bar Zearch—printed by Vincenzo Conti. Sabbioneta, 1567. Partially missing copy.
Sefer Tzida LaDerech is one of the most important works from the period of the Rishonim. Originally 261 leaves+two folded tables. This copy begins on leaf 4 (missing 1-4, 5-10). Also missing two last leaves and the two tables. 21cm. Worming damage, mainly in the internal margins, stains, detached bindings. A number of detached leaves, fair condition.
Rabbi Menachem ben Aharon ben Zerach was a rabbi during the Rishonim who worked in Spain in the 14th century. This work, also called in Aramaic “Zivudin d’Orcha” is divided into five sections: (1) prayers and blessings (accords with the first section of the Tur Orech Chaim); (2) halachot issur v’heter (accords with Tur Yoreh De’ah); (3) hilchot nashim (Tur Even haEzer); (4) Laws of Shabbat and Yom Tov; (5) Laws of Fasts (the latter two accord with the 2nd and 3rd sections of the Tur Orech Chaim). The book ends with a maamar on the coming of the Messiah.
