In the book are two important scholarly comments in ancient handwriting, as well as language corrections in handwriting. On the end papers are a number of short novaelle on the book (in different handwriting), as well as an index to one of the book's clauses (in a third handwriting).
On the book's title page is the stamp: "E. M. GOITEIN RABINER" (Eliyahu Menachem Goitein).
