A booklet of the speeches given during the "Congress of Youth for the Sabbath", in Shevat 1936 in Kovna, with the participation of representatives of all the Jewish youth movements of the town: Beitar, Barak, Beit Ya'akov, Zionist Youth, Moriya, the youth of Agudat Yisrael, Teferet Bachurim, Torah Ve'Avodah, Berurya Neshei Mizrachi.

It was an extremely rare congress due to the cooperation of all youth movements for the Sabbath! An amazing cooperation between non-religious youth movements and "Ha'Mizrachi" and "Agudat Yisrael".

The congress took place in the presence of the admired rabbi of Kovna, Rabbi Avraham Dov Shapira, author of "Devar Avraham", who gave a speech on the Sabbath. Representatives of the Zionist Youth, the youth of Agudat Yisrael, Beit Ya'akov, Torah Ve'Avodah and Beitar also gave speeches.

Yosef Glasman gave an enthusiastic speech on behalf of Beitar. In his speech, he glorified the Sabbath and its importance to Jewish culture. He refers to Herzl's opinion regarding the importance of the Sabbath to the national revival!

Glasman was appointed as the leader of the Beitar movement in Lithuania in 1938 and is remembered as the national hero who headed the Jewish underground organization of the Vilnius Ghetto. He was killed during one of its operations against the Nazis.
