Sharp Historic Letter Handwritten by the Admo"r, the Beit Avraham' of Slonim - A Cry from his Pure Heart Opposing Reading "Bichelach" and External Books

Important historic letter - especially [and maybe even particularly] relevant to our generation. Handwritten and signed by the Admo"r Rabbi Avraham Weinberg, author of Beit Avraham of Slonim, 1932.

In this letter, the Admo"r calls on and warns his followers - "and all who view these words, " not to read, under any circumstances, newspapers, journals ("bichelach") and all other external books (apparently referring to Zionist literature). "Because newspapers and bichelach, which include apostasy and lewdness - simply the three base sins - idol worship, indecency, and murder"!!! There were particular individuals who were lenient in this matter, such that the Admo"r writes with great wonder: "What is there to discuss??? So the Admo"r cries out from his pure, aching heart, "Brothers and friends, have mercy on yourselves and your homes, so as not to torch your souls and your spirits with a fire that is almost unquenchable without a sea of tears and extreme repentance ..." He concludes with a great blessing: "May Hashem who grants salvation have mercy on us to turn our hearts towards him, to go in all the ways he has commanded our forefathers, and to redeem us soon in body and spirit, among the Jewish people who await his salvation, " followed by his familiar signature.

This letter was printed in the book Beit Avraham (Jerusalem, 1958), where it is dated 1932.

[1] double leaf stencil-paper. 17x22 cm. The beginning of his letter (the first line and a half) are written in pencil, and the rest is written in pen, all in the Admo"r's hand. The pencilled script is slightly faded.

Fine-very fine condition. Fold marks, slight creases. Aging stains. Small ink stain in the signature. Slight lacks in the margins, far from the text.
