Letters from rabbis supporting the regulation of R. Yaakov Landau, rabbi of Bnei Brak, which prohibited the sale of poultry not under his supervision. Bnei Brak, Iyar 1977.
1-2. Two (identical) typewritten drafts of a proclamation, hand-signed by rabbis, warning the public to only use poultry slaughtered by local shochetim. Bnei Brak, 13th Iyar 1977. One draft signed by 11 rabbis and the other by 12 rabbis (one additional signature in the second draft).
The signatories include: R. Yaakov Landau, rabbi of Bnei Brak; R. Shmuel HaLevi Wosner, rabbi of Zichron Meir; R. Yitzchak Tzvi Bernfeld, rabbi of Chug Chatam Sofer; R. Avaham Tzvi Weiss, rabbi of Neveh Achiezer; R. Yehosef Chaim Scheinfeld, rabbi of Kiryat Herzog; R. Eliyahu Katz, rabbi of the Satmar Chassidim; R. Natan Gestetner, rabbi of Shikun Agudath Yisrael; R. Shlomo Zilberstein, rabbi of the Ger Chassidim; Rebbe Yisrael Hager of Vizhnitz, then rabbi of Kiryat Vizhnitz in Bnei Brak; R. David Shemesh, rabbi of the Sephardi community in Pardes Katz; R. Natan Tzvi Friedman, rabbi of Shikun Heh.
3. Letter from R. Yitzchak Shlomo Unger to R. Yaakov Landau, in which he agrees to the above regulation and authorizes his signature to be affixed to a proclamation on this matter. 7th Iyar 1977.
