Shofar given by the Young Israel community of the United States to the Consul David Rivlin.

David Rivlin—a senior member of the Foreign Ministry, filled a variety of positions in Israel and abroad from 1958-1988. From 1971-1975 he was the Consul General at the Israeli Consulate in New York City, from 1975-1978 he was the Israeli Ambassador in Oslo (Norway). The shofar is connected to a log by 3 hands made from bronze, with a sign of recognition to the Consul for his dedicated service to the State of Israel and world Jewry, by the World Committee of Young Israel, by Rav Ephraim Straum, administrative President, Herman Rosenbaum President. 1975. Length: 31cm, light knocks on the log, generally very good condition.
