[4], 136, [2] pages. 42.5 cm(!). Unusually wide margins.
The first edition of the Gra's commentary on the Mechilta. The book was published by Rabbi Yitzchak Eliyahu Landa, the "Maggid of Vilna." He wrote the Beirurei HaMiddot and Mitzuy HaMiddot commentary. In his introduction, he describes how he received the Gra's commentary from the Gra's grandson.
Owner signature at the top of the title page - possibly of Rabbi Yehudah Adil HaLevi, a speaker in Vilna. Otzar HaRabbanim 7050. Leaf 41b bears glosses in his hand.
New, half-leather binding. Aging stains. Reinforcements to the corners of the first two leaves. Fine-very fine condition. Sifrei HaGra 255.
