Brass mezuzah case. Sharar Group of Bezalel Jerusalem. C. 1920s.
85 mm. Two sections, back opens. The front features the text וכתבתם על מזוזות ביתך ובשעריך. ירושלם. בצלאל. The back: "Sharar Bezalel, Made in Palestine. Jerusalem".
The Sharar Group was the Bezalel workshop for various arts: filigree, gold, silver, and copper. Zeev Raban designed most Sharar items, such as Passover plates and Chanukah menorahs as well as ritual items like mezuzah cases.
Very fine condition.
