War of Independence - 1948 Minhelet Haam era "National Loan" initiative proclamation: large double-sided announcement heralding the launch of the "Malve Leumi" national loan drive, whereby the public was asked by the interim national council ("Minhelet Haam") to agree to loan their money to the Jewish Agency (the interim government) for a period of 5 years in exchange for 3% interest. The monies would serve to finance the war effort and ongoing operations of the state in the making. This announcement was published on 2 May 1948, with the initiative opening to the public on 11 May. Vertically & horizontally folded; complete. Printed by Haaretz in Tel Aviv.
