Handwritten Letter with an Illustration and Signature of the Famous Jewish Painter and Sculptor Yosef Constant (Constantinovsky) – The Second Half of the 20th Century
A letter in French. At its head a beautiful colorful illustration if a bird by the famous Jewish painter and sculptor Yosef Constant (1892-1969). Constant was known for his lovely pictures and sculptures.
Since 1942, Constant presented his pictures in Paris; there he belonged to the "Philosophy Circle". Under its influence, he wrote two novels.
During World War II, he escaped the Nazis, hiding in French villages. In 1962, he immigrated to Israel, building himself a studio on the bank of the Yarkon River.
In the letter, Constant expresses his regret for not being able to send his greetings for the New Year earlier due to his and his wife's sickness. He also expresses his hope to be able to meet his addressee in two-three weeks. He signed the letter with "Constant".
The letter is unaddressed.
Condition: Very Good.
