As an introduction to the poem Rabbi Rafael Adre'i writes about the duty to thank for the rescue of the Jews living in Morocco from the Second World War, as follows:

אני הצעיר עבד מקוה רחמי ה' אורי וישעי רפאל אדרעי הי"ו אחלה פני אל תמים דעים, לברך את בית ישראל נדיבים ושועים, הלוקחים את השירה הזאת לזכרון אניסא דרבים כולי עלמא מחייבי לברוכי ברך ה' אביר הרועים אשר הציל אותנו מתחת יד היטליר ומיד אלמן עדת מריעים. כן יעשה תמיד נסים ונפלאות עם הבן יקיר אפרים ילד שעשועים אכי"ר.

Rabbi Rafael b"r Machluf Adre'i (nickname 'Alfasi') [1881-1960]. Born in the city of Meknes in Morocco, and learned in the Yeshiva there. He learned Kabalah from the Mekubal Rabbi Yosef Alkobi, he decorated Kesubot documents and taught Talmud and laws of Shechita, besides his work as a barber to support his family. For many years he used his sweet voice and stood at the top of the 'Chevrat HaBakashot' (prayers) in the Beit HaKneset "Eliyahu HaNavi" in Meknes. He was proficient in Moroccan and Algerian Andalusian classical music, and in Spanish and French melodies, he used this knowledge to compose his many poems. The topics of the poems included Songs of Shabbat and Holidays and longing of the redemption. In the year 1929 he published in Fes his sefer "Heitivu Nagen", in it there is more than hundred poems.
