Amersfoort Concentration Camp – Two coupons for buying at the camp's canteen, with a printed signature of Berg, the commander of the camp – Holland, January 1944
Coupons number 009885 and 031306.4
The coupons were given to exceptional forced labor workers.
Amersfoort Concentration Camp was built in August 1941 and was active until the release of Holland in May 1945. It also served as a transit camp for Jews on their way to the camps in Germany: Buchenwald, Mauthausen and Noigma.
The camp was managed by SS men. The guards treated the prisoners most cruelly. The commander of the camp, Carl Peter Berg, was infamous for his cruelty and after the war was sentenced to death.
