Sefer Yossifon – Shearis Yisroel, Furth 1771. With Illustrated Woodcuts
Sefer Yossifon, Furth 1771. With Illustrated, depicting various characters and scenes. Printed in Judeo-German.
Two parts in one. The second part contains a work entitled "Shearis Yisroel", authored by R. Menachem Mann of Amsterdam. He was a disciple of R. Moshe Frankfurt, a prominent Dayan in Amsterdam. With the sacred approbation of R. Nesanel Weil, author of "Korban Nesanel".
She'eris Yisroel is a fascinating work, which records the history of the Jewish people beginning from after the Second Temple period. The author also tells of the finding of America, as well as the period of the Chmielnicki massacres (1648-49) and its aftermath.
With a separate title page for part II. Very scarce.
