Sefer Eitz Shasul, Venice 1618. First Edition. With Important Approbations
Sefer Eitz Shasul, a classic commentary on Sefer HaIkarrim, Venice 1618. First Edition. With important approbations, including the Shela Hakadosh, the Klei Yakar and the Maharsha.
On the title page is a signature which reads: “Hakatan Yaakov Reisher from Metz”. This is possibly none other than R. Yaakov Reischer (1661-1733), author of Shev Yaakov and other works, who served as Rabbi of Metz during his later years until his death, where he is buried.
Included with this copy are the 2 additional rare leaves of errata (pp. 145-146), which were added after the printing and are lacking from almost all copies. At the header of pp. 145 it reads: “Because of the very deep wisdom of the author, some of the concepts were not properly expounded on, hence we had to [compose this page and] bring it to print a second time, and by doing so, we also managed to correct the mistakes which are found throughout”.
With various Kabbalistic drawings and diagrams. Several marginal glosses are seen throughout.
146 pp.
(Pages 145-146 are detached, included from a different copy).
