6 Sixth Plate Portrait Daguerreotypes of Women
Group of six sixth plate Daguerreotype portrait photographs depicting women. Many with hand-painted gold ornamentation. Housed under glass in a gilt frames encased by a stamped leather and wood cases - two with red velvet lining.

Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Height ranges from 3 1/2 in to 3 3/4 in; width ranges from 3 1/4 in to 3 1/2 in; depth: 1/2 in.
Condition: Discoloration and scratches throughout. Four portraits lacking one half of the case. One case with both halves is severed along the spine and the halves are separated; fading to the velvet of this case. Wear to the cases commensurate with age and use.
