Xiao Se Oil on Canvas Painting
Xiao Se (Chinese, b. 1970). Oil on canvas painting depicting two individuals in an interior scene with a blue and white porcelain vase falling in the background and a candle in the foreground. Signed along the verso.
Sight; height: 23 1/4 in x width: 20 1/4 in. Framed; height: 25 1/2 in x width: 22 1/2 in.
Condition: The painting is in good condition overall with no visible tears or major losses. There are scattered areas the paint began to crack, most noticeably to the upper left quadrant. There is a paint loss to the lower right corner against the frame. Along the extreme edges, there are a few areas with residue that does not affect the overall work. There is a spiral crack below the falling pottery. There is a network of minute paint losses below the candlestick. No sign of restoration under UV light. Very light wear to the frame.
