".. With God's help, for the portion *Vayevarech Et HaNaarim*, 1949, London... A gift sent to the precious young men, and may my name and the name of my fathers be called upon them, etc. The instruction of God, my son, do not despise this holy sefer, for it is the instruction of God received from person to person until Elijah, the holy patriarchs, and Moses from the mouth of the Almighty. It is not human wisdom, which has boundaries and limits, and as the body, so is its understanding. But the instruction of this holy knowledge speaks to Israel in the language of man, hinting at high divine matters. It informs of the holiness and elevation of the holy Sages, it informs of the holiness of the soul of Israel, its elevation and sanctity, its source of origin. Blessed is he who delves deeply into this with true knowledge and complete faith. It informs of the elevation of prayer ascending on high. Blessed is the man who merits understanding here, and heeds to study, to teach, to observe, and to do. Shalom Moskowitz of Shotz..".
The holy Rebbi Shalom Moskowitz of Shotz (1878-1958), was a great scholar in both revealed and hidden Torah and established Torah and Hasidism in England after the Holocaust. He descended from the holy Rebbi Michel of Zlotchov and Rebbi Meir of Premishlan Zt''l. In his youth, he was ordained by the Maharsham of Berezhany and was close to the Tzaddikim of the Belz dynasty, Rebbi Yissachar Dov and Rebbi Aharon Zt''l..
He led his community in the place of his ancestors as the Av Beit Din of Shotz (Suceava). After the war, he emigrated to London, where he became widely known, and many sought from him salvation, Torah, and guidance. He was zealous for the word of God and strongly opposed Zionism. Among his well-known students was Rabbi Meir Shapiro of Lublin (who studied with him in Shotz). His writings include *Daas Shalom* on the Rambam and more. He is known for his promise that anyone who visits his grave, lights two candles, and makes a good spiritual resolution will strive to assist and deliver them in whatever they request. Many have been helped through him.
