Rare African mask from the Duala, Cameroon.
African mask from the Duala, Cameroon. This type of mask appears during the annual rituals for blessing the harvest and during drought, as a request for water from their water god. Hand-carved from a single piece of wood, with coloured painting and carved decoration. Signs of wear, drying cracks.
