"רבבות אלפי מחזיקי הישיבות מאירופה אינם עוד כיום, לדאבוננו הגדול" (thousands of supporters of yeshivas from Europe are gone, unfortunately)  Lengthy letter signed by the Geonim Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin Av Beit Din of Luck and Rabbi Chizkiyahu Mishkovsky Av Beit Din of Krinki, addressed to the Benot Yerushalayim organization - Jerusalem, 1945. 


In their letter, the rabbis ask the members of the organization to help the yeshiva world, which is rising from the ashes, after being almost completely destroyed during the Holocaust "והשרידים שנמלטו מגיא התופת אין להם מקום אחר זולת הישיבות בארה"ק, וחובה גדולה על הישוב להחזיקן". The rabbis of the yeshivas committee ask the members of the organization to "accept the mission of distributing the coupons in Jerusalem".

The Gaon Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin (1880-1966) known also as the Rav of Luck, was Av Beit Din of Luck, Ukraine. He studied at the yeshivas of Slabodka, Volozhin and Telz. Served as the head of Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah, the chairman of Independent education and one of the leaders of the yeshivas committee. 


Rabbi Chzikiyahu Yosef Mishkovsky (1884-1947) the Rav of Krinik and one of the leaders of the Union of Rabbis of Poland. Was one of the leaders and founders of the yeshivas committee in Poland and Eretz Yisrael. was close to the Chafetz Chaim and Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky.
