Sefer Yesod: Meginei Shlomo, defending Rashi. First edition, Amsterdam 1715. Many interesting notes.
Sefer Meginei Shlomo by Rabbi Yehoshua, the Av Beit Din of Krakow. In the title page it is explained that the work is called by this name because it defends our Rabbi Shlomo Yitzhaki "Rashi" from the kushiyot of the Tosafot.

First edition. [2], 92 leaves. Stefanski Sifrei Yesod 73. Catalogued in the Rare Book section of the National Library.

Interesting introduction from the author’s grandson, Rabbi Elyakim Getz, in which he expands on the book’s goal, and among other things reveals that the author told his students that Rashi came to him in a dream with great happiness and thanked him for saving him from the kushiyot of the (“lion cubs”) Tosafot and said that he would come to receive him with all his students when it came time for him to pass.

Wooden binding covered in parchment—antique with defects, stains, overall good condition.

The binding and rear blank leaf have notes testifying that the copy was ostensibly owned by Rabbi Yehuda Leib Nomberg, Av Beit Din of Rovitsch, son-in-law of Rabbi Meir Posner, the Beit Meir.

The front blank leaf has notes: “the holy Yosef ben Rav of Lisa”, “Moharar Moshe Wer…”. The title page has still more notes of ownership: “the holy Asher Shmuel ben HaManoach Wolf Fuld…(?)”, “Anshil Simcha …?”. Stamps in foreign language of Rabbi Dr. S. Poper.

The rear blank leaf has notes of “Binyamin ben Rabbi Shul…(?)”, “the important bachur Moshe Wirms studying in the yeshiva gedolah under the famous gaon Moharar Avraham Brody, Av Beit Din and Ram of Frankfurt-am-Mein, written 3rd Cheshvan 1716.”
