Portrait photograph of Rabbi Mordechai Brisk of Tasnad (1886-1944), with inscription in Hebrew. Rabbi Mordechai Brisk was one of the most prominent Rabbis in Transylvania, Romania and Hungary before the holocaust, and served in the Tasnad rabbinate. His yeshiva was the largest at the time in both Hungary and Romania. He refused the offer to be appointed as the Rabbi of Budapest at WW2, and in 1944 he was transferred to Auschwitz, where his life ended. Circa 1945. Dimensions: approximately 14X9 cm. Good condition, wear.
