Templar Token - Nickel Plated Zinc – Third Issue – 20 Para - "Consummarke" – Token for Consumption – 1880-1917 – Graded VF by PCGS - the First Time a Graded Templar Token Appears in an Auction!
The Templers were Germans, members of a Christian movement that was established in South Germany a hundred and fifty years ago. They believed that Redemption will come only by living and working hard in the Holy land and Jerusalem, where they strived to realize a model of ideal life by establishing productive villages.
During those years, hundreds of Templers settled in several agricultural colonies that were established in the Land of Israel. They worked as farmers, traders and craftsmen.
The brass tokens were used by the Templers in these aforementioned colonies. They were issued during the year 1880-1917. On obverse side of the token: the denomination. On the reverse side: a plow, representing the idea of an agricultural-industrial settlement. Around it, the inscription: "Centralcasse des Tempels" – the central fund of the Temple.
Condition: Graded VF by PCGS, Environmental Damage.
