Badatz Proclamation – Podgórze-Krakow, 1936
“BeSuccot Teshvu Shivat Yamim”. Proclamation of the Badatz rabbis concerning the Kashrut of the tiny Succoth built on the porches of the homes. Podgórze near Krakaw, 1936.
“The Badatz are informing that many Succoth which are built on the balconies or porches do not comply with the minimum measurement prescribed by the Torah… therefore the Mitzvah of Succa, which is comparable to the entire Torah, is not fulfilled. Besides, unnecessary blessings on the Succa are made which is a very severe sin…”.
Signed in print: Rabbi Yehoshua Feivel Frenkel Te’omim, Rabbi Simcha Frenkel Te’omim and Rabbi Ze'ev Shaul Ettinger. Stamp “Beit Din Tzedek of Krakaw”.
Yiddish and Hebrew (faulty).
22.5 cm. Fair-poor condition. Creases, folds and tears. Filing holes.
