Halachic Responsum in the Handwriting of Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried Author of the “Kitzur Shulchan Aruch”
Manuscript, of a halachic responsum on the laws of "kiddushei sechok", in Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried's handwriting, written in response to the query of his son-in-law Rabbi Shabtai Diamond Av Beit Din of Petsy-Neidorf, autographic writing with erasures and additions. [Uzhgorod, before 1865].
Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried (1804-1886), served 36 years (from 1850) as Rosh Av Beit Din of Uzhgorod, his native city. Wrote dozens of important works but he is especially renowned for his famous book “Kitzur Shulchan Aruch”. See previous item.
His son-in-law was Rabbi Shabtai Diamond (1815-1865), Av Beit Din of Petsy-Neidorf (New Petsy), disciple of the “Chatam Sofer” and Maharam Ash. A leading Torah scholar and an important dayan of his generation. He had halachic exchanges with the great Torah figures of his times and their responses emphasize the great esteem in which he was held by the Chatam Sofer, the Divrei Chaim, Imrei Esh etc. At the end of his father-in-law's book “Lechem V'Simla”, he printed his own large booklet on the laws of the topic "chikeku v'levasof kav'u".
Four pages, 37 cm. Good condition, few stains and wear. Elaborate leather binding.
The responsum was written before 1865, since his son-in-law is mentioned in the responsum followed by the acronym Nun and Yud (Nero Ya'ir, said after the name of a living person) and he died in 1865 when his father-in-law was still alive.
