On the fourth page appears an approbation by the "scholar …Shmuel Yossef Czaczkes…": "How flowery thy sayings! How lofty thy sense! […] Your name shall light the many books you have written…" signed: "Buchach, 1903…Shmuel Yossef Czaczkes [S.Y. Agnon].
In 1903 Agnon was only 16 years old (b. 1887). In his book "MeAtzmi el Atzmi" (p. 357) Agnon wrote: "…published in print a ballad in Hebrew and approbation in Hebrew on the book Minhat Yehuda, Aggadic commentaries…". 64 pp, 19 cm. Good condition. Minor damages. Ex-library copy. Cardboard binding.
