Collection of approximately 1540 bookplates (Ex Libris). [Europe and Eretz Israel, 19th and 20th centuries].
High-quality collection composed of many European bookplates from the first half of the 20th century. Includes many etchings and original prints (some signed by the artist), many bookplates from Hungary and Germany, of institutions and public libraries, etc.
Many of the bookplates in this collection have illustrations with Jewish motifs, which were made for Jewish collectors or were illustrated by Jewish artists. The collection includes several duplicates of some items. Enclosed are a number of research printings on the subject of Ex Libris.
Size and condition vary. Approximately 1370 of the Ex Libris are glued on paper.
