Silver Charity Box – Chevra Kadisha – Europe 1859 – Rare
Charity box made of silver (the silver has been examined), popular craftsmanship.
The charity box is shaped as a tombstone with a slit for inserting coins.
On the side of the box, an engraved illustration of a sick Jew with people around him praying for his health. On the lower part, an engraved illustration of a funeral and an engraved inscription: "Chevra Kadisha Osim Chessed Be'Emunah Yachdav".
At the bottom, an opening with a bolt for taking out the coins.
Height: 16 cm. Length: 19 cm, Weight: 680 grams.
Condition: Very Good. Signs of age.
