1. A postcard from R. Meir Chanoch ben Yishai (Yishayovitz), the Rabbi of the Neve Sha’anan neighborhood in Tel Aviv, regarding the public desecration of Shabbat in Tel Aviv. 1933.
2. A letter from R. Y. L. HaKohen Maimon [Fishman], on Mossad HaRav Kook’s official stationery, regarding a joint religious front in the third Knesset. 1955.
R. Y. L. HaKohen Maimon-Fishman was one of the founders of the Mizrachi movement. A rabbi and a bibliophile, he also served as the Minister of Religion.
3. A letter to R. Moshe Porush from the members of a Jerusalem synagogue, regarding soccer games on Shabbat in the Bukharian neighborhood. [C. 1960]
R. Moshe Porush was a famous Agudah activist and served as the vice-mayor of Jerusalem. He is the father of Menachem Porush. The Givat Moshe neighborhood in Jerusalem is named for him.
4. A letter from R. Avraham Werner, Rabbi of Netanya, to MK R. Yaakov Katz, regarding the autopsy law. 1965.
5-6 Two letters from the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv to R. Yitzchak Pomerantz, the rabbi of the Po’el Mizrachi neighborhood in Tel Aviv, regarding public Shabbat desecration. 1966.
One letter deals with transportation to Tel Aviv’s public beaches on Shabbat, and the other deals with the paving of a Tel Aviv street on Friday night.
