March of the ship Tel Aviv, March Meir Dizengoff, and March Menachem Ussishkin – notes in the handwriting of Abraham unnshein, the conductor of the orchestra in the famous Jewish ship – 1938 – 1941
Abraham (Adolf) Sonnenschein was a student in the conservatorium in his native city in Poland. After he immigrated to Israel, he served as the conductor of the orchestra of the ship "Tel Aviv". This ship was a ship for transporting both passengers and cargo, which worked in Israel between the years 1935-1936. It was the first steam ship to be registered in the registry of ships in Haifa. Purchased by the Palestine Shipping Co. Ltd, who set her aside to be used to transport passengers on the Trieste – Haifa line.
In the luxurious ship were comfortable and spacious cabins (as can be seen in the pictures) all of equal size for 400 passengers. The appearance of the large white steam ship on the beaches of Israel, when on the bow was written in Hebrew letters the name "Tel Aviv", caused much excitement amongst the residents of Israel. On the net there is a nice moving film from the year 1935 of when the ship arrived to the Tel Aviv port, and there is a recording of the ship's orchestra playing.
Before us are a number of pages, and on them notes written in his hand writing:
a. "The march of the ship Tel Aviv"
Half a page.
b. "The march of Meir Dizengoff, the mayor of Tel Aviv"
(begins of the page of the march of the ship. A page and a half, on the second page is written "Haifa 1941")
Size: 26*33 cm
The notes are in ink and pencil.
Condition: good. Slight tears in the borders, with no missing notes. Age stains, folding signs.
Very special item!!
