Printed page. The Orphans song from the General Shelter and School for Orphans, Jerusalem.
Nine verses. The text is in blue ink, decorated with a frame.
"Small and delicate orphans, we remained with nothing, no parents, no redeemers, we were shaken off like locusts…and here generous hearted people rose up…and they founded an orphanage…". A special and touching song.
Extremely rare. Not bibliographically known. Not found in libraries in Israel.
As far as we know the song is not mentioned in books which deal with the history of Jerusalem and its institutions.
