Four Early Letters and Handwritten Copying - Important Items!
1. Handwritten letter dated "Tuesday the 3rd of Elul 5698 [1838]" in which Rabbi Yosef ben Rabbi Wolf Klein writes to his "Liber Friend" [beloved friend] about several books that ought to be printed, among them "Kerem Chemed" and the Ibn Ezra commentary on the Torah. Then he copies [on two and a half pages] selected commentary of the Ibn Ezra on the Torah. He also copies a letter by Rabbi Shmuel David Luzzatto. The beginning of the letter is in Yiddish, the rest in Hebrew.
The letter is cut in the middle with no omission of words. A large hole in the middle with omission.
2. Handwritten copying, two pages. Semihcat Chachamim by the Noda Bi'Yehuda and his son Leib, given to Rabbi Yissachar Ber ben Naftali Hirtz Kanreiter. Curly, rabbinical script. Early copying close to the date of writing [1820].
3. Handwritten letter sent by Rabbi Wolf Segal of Tavarish to Rabbi Baruch Asher Pearls [a disciple of the Chatam Sofer. A relative of Rabbi Yitzchak Moshe and his son Rabbi Meir Pearls of Bonyhad. See Ha'Chatam Sofer Ve'Talmidav pp. 94]. Scholarly comments. Two pages from Wednesday 25th 1853.
4. Postcard, handwritten letter sent by Rabbi Meir Numberg of Zoalin to Rabbi Yosef Lowenstein of Serock. A discussion about genealogy. Rabbi Yosef was considered a genealogy expert. Interesting content. Rabbi Meir Numberg, author of "Omer Mann".
Postmarks dated 1907.
