Interesting Halachic Letter Signed by Rabbi Yechezkel Bennet. Extremely Rare – Has Never been Published
A scholarly letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yechezkel Bennet Av Beit Din of Szinérváralja and the Galilee. Written in 1905. The letter was sent to his disciple Rabbi Alexander Moshe Weiss.
The letter is about Rabbi Weiss' desire to observe the Mitzvah of writing a Torah scroll; however, due to lack of time, he asks whether an emissary can write it on his behalf (a trainee Torah scribe).
Rabbi Bennet presents the opinion of his disciple, Rabbi Yosef-Yehuda Halpert: "after writing this, my disciple Yosef Yehuda Halpert has brought to my attention …" the disciple's opinion is written on approximately half a page.
At the margins of the letter, Rabbi Bennet's signature.
The letter is written on Rabbi Bennet's official stationery.
