18th Century Silver Hanukkah Menorah, Frankfurt. The backplate is embossed with a crowned cartouche chased with a menorah and flanked by lions. The hinged cover is engraved. Standing on four legs in the shape of lions. Marked with maker I.H, city mark on backplate, inside the base and on the cover. Dimensions: 16 x17 cm. Including the original Shamash. The tail of the right hand lion, where the Shamash was attached is missing. See similar item in: Five Centuries of Hanukkah Lamps from the Jewish Museum, New York, 2004, p. 235. Provenance: Wolf Family Estate, Tel Aviv. The Menorah has been with the family for over 200 years and was brought to Israel in 1933 when the family fled the Nazi regime.
